Terms of Service
Version 0.1 · Effective September 29, 2026 · Leemor Yuravlivker ("we", "us")
1. What this app is
Loggerhead is a personal logbook for scuba divers. You record dives, add photos and video from those dives, and the app suggests which marine species appear in them. It also keeps a life list of everything you have logged.
This is an early build offered to a small number of invited testers. Features change, data may be reset between builds, and the app may be unavailable without notice.
2. Species identification is a suggestion, not a determination
Identifications and confidence percentages come from an automated model. They are estimates. You confirm or reject each one, and only what you confirm is saved to your log. We do not warrant that any identification is correct, and you should not rely on the app to decide whether an animal is dangerous, protected, edible or safe to approach.
If you use your logbook for scientific, regulatory or citizen-science reporting, verify each record yourself first.
3. Diving safety
The app records dives you have already made. It is not a dive computer, a dive planner or a decompression tool, and the depth, time, gas and temperature fields hold values you enter for your own records. Never use the app to plan a dive, calculate decompression or make any in-water decision. Follow your training, your computer, and your instructor or guide.
4. Invited access and your account
Access is by invitation. You sign in with an email address on our invite list; we email a six digit code, and there is no password. Keep that mailbox secure, since anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us at support@loggerheadid.app if you believe someone else has used your account.
You must be at least 18 years old. Do not share your invitation or give anyone else access to your account.
5. Your content stays yours
Your photos, video, dive records, notes and life list belong to you. You give us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store your content, to process the frames you submit for identification, to show it back to you, and to keep backups. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backup copies that expire on our normal schedule.
While Loggerhead is in testing, the dives, photos and species you log are visible to everyone who uses it. Your dive notes are private to you.
6. Fair use of the service
Do not upload content you have no right to upload, content that is unlawful, or images of people who have not agreed to be there. Do not attempt to break, overload or reverse engineer the service. Do not use it to harass anyone, or to locate and exploit protected wildlife.
7. Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from your profile, and we delete your content as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we stop offering the test build, and we will give you a reasonable chance to export your logbook first.
8. Warranties and liability
The app is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost content where you hold no copy of your own, or for any decision you make underwater. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
9. Changes and contact
We will tell you by email before these terms change in a way that affects you, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new version. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Questions go to support@loggerheadid.app.
